About Me

I'm a Consultant and Full-Stack Software Developer. I help businesses save time, make fewer mistakes, and capture better data through software automation. I do that by designing and developing systems and processes that leverage software integrations and AI for automation.

I'm a self-driven learner. I studied business at university, but got started working as a Software Consultant and Developer through independent study. I also learned Brazilian Portuguese to near native level fluency before moving to the country.

I'm half German and half Irish. Culturally, I grew up between both. After living in Brazil for three years now, I've fully embraced being a cultural orphan.

I'm a weightlifter and surfer. Unfortunately, I'm not particularly great or exceptional in either sport. Weightlifting keeps me sane and healthy. Surfing is pure fun and play.

What I'm Doing Now

I'm shifting my focus from time telling to clock building. Thankfully, we've had a stepchange in growth at XRay. As the company transitions from startup to scaleup, I'm focused on finding, defining, documenting, and teaching best practices for our consulting team.

I'm getting LFCS certified. Building a deeper understanding of operating systems, networking, and virtualization is already helping a lot with my work. It's also giving me a greater sense of awe for computers and the internet.

I'm living in the city of São Paulo. I don't see myself settling down here, so I'm trying to enjoy the experience while it lasts. I love how close and convenient everything is. The city is loud, chaotic, and noisy, and everyone's always working. Surprisingly, I'm finding that to be energizing.
